Need Help Quick! Is the GTX 1000 Powermaster a solid performer?

Thinking about buying a used one. What kind of average depth can I expect on coin-sized targets? Any other info would be appreciated. Thanks!

The 1000 PM is a good all-round machine. It was the precursor to the GTAx series and is very similar to the 1250. I wouldn't go over about 200 sheckles for it though.

On average, with the stock search coil, you should get between eight to ten inches on coin size targets. Great machine. I've owned and used 'em in the past. I regret letting them go. It's amazing how much more depth was gained after Garrett's introduced that PowerMaster ciruitry.

Here's a link to the field test report from Lost Treasure magazine online:

There is a large selection of search coils to choose from. I suggest the 4.5" Crossfire super sniper which is excellent for getting good targets out of areas with a high concentration of trash metal.
Best of luck to ya!:biggrin:Happy Hunting!:)
