Need help pinpointing with large coil (Excelerator 14 DD)

Tagamet

New member
I have a WOT for my Explorer II that I'm struggling with, but have been told that I should get a 14 inch Excelerator coil in it's place. Can some kind soul please describe the pinpointing process for the 14 inch DD Excelerator coil? I've already gotten several good descriptions of pinpointing with the WOT coil.
Thanks in advance, and please use a "Pinpointing the Excelerator 14 inch coil For Dummies" approach.

Swing the Coil left and right and at the same-time pulling the coil back towards you until the target signal fades out or drops off ( Not in pinpoint mode ).the target will be right off the front tip of the coil. This works with all DD coils .

but not as bad...you got to pinpoint and then short back and forth moves....it sounds iffy or not quite good pin point another target next to it and do that till you get a constant good short back and forth sound...hit and miss...once you remove the junk you will get a better signal with the good target...sorry no short cuts here......dig!!!! the better sound is the middle of the coil.....the edges weep a weird shreek as you move away from it. Practice and dig will tell you whats going on. I had to learn the hard way but that is the best schooling you will ever get...Hands on training.....HH

Just like mattockman Said . You'll know the good target by the sound . It:wiggle: well sound different then the junk targets around it .:wiggle:
