Need Help on settings

Hi all! I am new to beach hunting. I have a Excalibur 800. The salesman told me to leave the settings as follows: Sensitivity Control "auto", Discriminate / Pin Point "disc", Discriminate Control "1". Are these the best settings to use to find coins and jewelry? Or does anyone reccomend another setting? So far I have found a couple of quarters, dimes, and pennies no jewelry, and plenty plenty plenty of pull tabs!!!:pulltab:

Then you want to get out of auto, you should be able to handle 11 o'clcock and zero disc., threshold is the key to avoiding falsing in this set up set it back until you can barely hear it, volume around 3/4.

Cheers,

BDA:cool:

Hi Mad Eneida, WELCOME to the EXCALIBUR WORLD!! I would personally stay with those settings, until you become very comfortable/CONFIDENT
in the use of the EXCALIBUR!! Also, if you don't already have one, get yourself one of the aftermarket Straight Shafts!! To ME, the most important aspect of the EXCALIBUR is LEARNING THE DIFFERENT SOUNDS of the variety of TARGETS!! Also, using PROPER COIL SWING CONTROL!! Being you are digging Lots of Pulltabs, I don't think that you are missing Very Much Jewelry. VERY IMPORTANT, Platinum sounds like FOIL!! hh, Les

I was out for the first time with my new Excal today. I used these setting and the first thing I found was a Sliver Ring. 67 cents in clad followed.

Discrimination on 1 so I could hear all of the tones

Sensitivity at 11 O'Clock

Volume around 3/4 of the way up

Threshold so I could just hear it.

Disc/Pinpoint in Disc
