Need Help -- Masonic Symbol

Went back to one of my favorite sites today, an early 1900's sawmill ghost town. Lots of great finds in the past and today was no different. Picked up a 1897 Barber Dime plus the item you see in the photo. It's a 32 degree Masonic logo -- but I have no idea what this particular design was used for. It's exactly 3" in diameter and very heavy for its size (copper or brass). It's fairly thin with nothing at all on the back.

Any ideas??

It's Scottish Rite. 3" would be about right for an auto emblem displayed in the grill of a car back in the day.
