Gonna test the the explore against the equinox on some targets. Depth and separation test. Any suggestions?

CD,

My biggest question is separation. I have the original XS and the CTX3030. I saw my first NOX in the wild last weekend.

When the explorers first came out it was like hitting a site for the first time. I think that mainly had to do with the fact they were the first detectors to use DD coils, and that unmasked a lot of previously undetectable targets. But those days are over, most parks have been Explored to death.

That helped a lot in trashy sites. But the XS can only hit a nail/coin combo if the nail is pretty much straight in line with the center web of the coil. The CTX3030 seems to have the ability to see the coin when the nail is more perpendicular to the center web, but will only do this in target trace; no audio response. It sounds like the NOX and Deus can generate an audio response in most cases.

Curious to what conditions it will see a coin next to/under ferrous. I still think there are a ton of goodies to be found if iron can be ignored.

I would love to see this test!! I went out on a couple of two hour hunts with my SE with the pro coil. Both parks have been beat to death. I hit a curb for an hour. Out of 56 coins found there were no silver and only 4 wheaties,a newer token and a #24 charm that I presume was off a bracelet. The deepest wheat was around 7". So yes...a depth test would be well appreciated! I hope I am not missing coins.

Well finding gold rings, earrings and chains.
The Explorer has a display screen that really helps you in determining when to dig those signals.

If you can help me understand when to dig those signals with the NOX, that would be terrific!
