i hope it's okay to post this here just wanted some input on this piece i found while relic hunting, thanks wendell.

stan it's about 3-4 inches. i was relic hunting a plantation site that goes back to the 1840's and got a signal and while i was digging i started turning some really old clay pottery pieces, bones(animal), blue feathered edge plate pieces, and burnt wood. and this came out along with a hog tusk and square nails. what do you make of this? it seems the whole area is like this.i'll try post some things that i dug out there this evening meanwhile thanks, and have a merry christmas, wendell.

Usually that's the kind of stuff you would find in an old dump site. Have you found any pipe bowls? We found a place like that and it gave up a lot of things like that. We built a sifter and worked the area. You might find some old bottles too. Sounds like a great place to me. Let us know what else you find there. HH

Appears to be a simple knife blade as Stan suggested. Material looks to be Chalcedony or Agate. Your always welcome to post relics of any kind here. Merry Christmas, David @ Dixie
