Hello there! After having to sell off my detecing stuff awhile back, I finally was able to get a cheapo detector from the pawn shop. A bounty hunter pioneer ex. By far the most frustrating thing I have had the pleasure of detecting with. Anyways. After weeks of infuriating hunts consisting of 99% junk, 1% clad, I have finally stumbled across this beauty. I found it in New Albany, Indiana, in my own yard actually. My house is the oldest in the neighborhood, well over 100 years old. Used to be the only house here for miles around. I can't tell if it is a button or something like a pin. There are no real discernible markings other than a tiny circle to the left of the shank in the picture. Just want to know if it is indeed a button, also the age and origin if possible. Thanks alot!

Ok so...

1. My first impression was its a very nice tie tack.
2. or possibly its the face of a mans ring
3. the broken keeper of a pocket watch fob

Thanks for the info guys, i appreciate it! They re-sodded the yard back in the sixties so I'm really not finding much in terms of relics, just pet i.d tags (really hope I didnt dig a pets grave!) and junk. I found that tie tack/cufflink by accident honestly, about a foot deep with a bunch of nails. What I really want to do is get under the front porch, it's been here since the house was made. It's bricked up with no way of getting in. Was thinking of cutting a hole big enough for me to squeeze in. I know there is something under there!
