Need help id'ing one cent "size":confused: coin

From the looks of the coin I would think that you couldn't ruin it it by trying to pick some of the scale off with a wood toothpick.It would also let you experience certain ways of cleaning coins of that type.


Just remember not to use anything harder than the coin metal to pick away at it.Just take your time with it. You did fine with the pictures.Good luck with it.
 
Drop coin in Coke (the drink) until the crud is eaten off, but be carefull...It CAN eat the coin too...

You said "It is penny size, but a little wider", are you talking over-all diameter, or thickness?

I'd try the white glue/wax paper/freezer method 1st.
