This is one of my finds today. I'm thinking maybe that it came of a bridle and is CW era. This was found @ an old school and is around 1/2 mile from an encampment. It has a brass obverse and the reverse is iron.. TIA

I'm pretty sure (almost positive) it is a more recent / modern US Army Dress Uniform collar device (right side). ??? I could be wrong. CCH

Here's the link:

I checked the link... didn't see any with the same lettering.. This is 2" diameter... seems a little big for a collar device... dunno.

Pan,
Go to the link and scroll over to page 2 & 3 (of that link) and you can make a comparison. The page cursor is at the top of the page. The "collar brass" similar to your post is located on pages 2 & 3. Good luck and let us know what you think. I hope I am incorrect. LOL. CCH

don't see it there... the ones listed there are 22k anodized.. nothing about brass over iron.. lettering and spacing different. thanks anyway..

Its not collar brass. It is a bridal rosette. Show the back and maybe we can help you determine if it is civil war era or span/am era.

It is iron with no wire or loop left

Thanks for the info....
