I found this Object at a campsite that Andrew Jackson used on his way to the Battle of New Orleans.
any one have an idea as to what it is? (Penny is for size)
The Target was 6 inches deep i was using DFX with 6X10 coil
in relic mode AC 74 PAG 3

anode, it looks like an old brass brooch. it kinda resembles one i found last weekend. and it looks like yours opens up. just my two cents, hh, [try electrolysis]
 
I agree with GG. Looks to be Victorian era. I have found similar items at old house sites.
