Need Help Identifying Button/Coin??

Thought this was a coin at first but looks more like a button now. The branches on the piece made me think it was a coin but the raised spot above the branches looks like where a loop would go. Any help would be appreciated.

Looks like some of the buttons ive been finding ... brass, tin or lead? Id say mid 1800's. Looks like basket weave pattern and you are correct... id say the button loop thats no longer there was braised.

That's a coin, I've found several coins (1840-1860) made into buttons. Trust me, That is indeed a coin and an old one to boot.

Loop (shank) were soldered to the center (backside) of coin.
