Need help getting info online!!!

Been trying to get any info online that will help research area's in my state (Nebraska). I know I will need to go the
historical institute in the off season, but would like to research and get some info off the computer without going in
circles or having to pay to join a web site. Everything I've tried ends up just frustrating me. Does anyone have some
inside tips on how and where to look that won't waste my time...Getting hooked on MD and would really like to hear
from any of you pro's out there. Tried to go to Sandborn but that was like trying to find a needle in a haystack....
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.....Thanks in advance.....Jeff

You could contact your local library and they should be able to steer you in the right direction.. I live in Iowa and the state library has a collection of Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps that are available online. google earth and microsoft virtual earth are also good resources.
