Need help finding country & date of this coin. Coin?

Wow...looks like Area 51 to me....very interesting !!

With the tear in the top of the coin/medalion it looks like a necklace medalion. It could be a tourist item from egypt or middle east area. What kind of metal does it look like? It looks like a more modern stamped coin. Is it plated in another metal or just copper/bronze. What kind of an area did you find it? Beach, park, or house lot? It could be native american indian? But it's definately a one of a kind item. Way to go!!! Good job

Thanks SilverSeeker. Yes, it was definitely used as a pendant. It's copper. There's no evidence of plating, though if it were, it was probably so thin that it leached away in the soil. It was found around Palestine, TX., well inland. Could have come from anywhere in the world. The Middle East to the Far East sounds like a good guess.

I am quite sure the writing on the coin is middle eastern. I read Arabic but this is written in script which is like cursive in our language, which I cannot read. It is most likely an Islamic prayer.

Thanks Hondo33. Am I right that the top right word in the first picture is"sultan"?
