I got a guy on ebay willing to end his auction and sell me a like new (He says he used it two times and it is to complex for him) Minolta Dimage 5 and all the stuff and blank warranty for $400 + $12 shipping. They go for over $500 used on ebay. I checked completed auctions and the cheapest one I saw was a refurbished dimage 5 that went for $487.
Anyway, the Dimage 5 will go down to 5" on macro, do you think that would be good enough to get a good coin photo? Ray has the Olympus 3000 and it says 8" on macro and he gets some impressive coin shots. I do have 49mm closeup lenses for my maxxum, so I guess it probably won't matter. The Dimage uses 49mm filters which I have several.
Anyway, need some advice, I don't think I have ever seen anyone on the detecting forums that use a Dimage 5. This would be my first digital camera if I do get it. I was thinking that if I don't like it, I will have no problem getting my money back on ebay out of it.
Thanks.

Ric, over here in the UK in the magazine "Digital Camera Buyer" it was rated the best camera they have ever reviewed.
Brian.

I have been wanting a Dimage 5 for ever and never have had the money. Definitely not for the Dimage 7. I have always used Minolta 35mm's and just thought I would stay with that line, at least for now. I would like to get into Nikon's, but right now that is just an option I can not afford.
Thanks again! <IMG SRC="/forums/images/smile.gif" BORDER=0 ALT=":)"> I hope to be posting pictures by the end of this coming week! I will need a bunch of help also! <IMG SRC="/forums/images/biggrin.gif" BORDER=0 ALT=":D">
