hello all! im new to the forum and this is my first post. im not however new to metal detecting ive owned a xlt , dfx , idx , qxt and now i own the mxt.my mxt has the standard 9 inch coil and most of my hunting sights here in southern ohio are school yards and church yards and camp grounds im wanting a smaller coil and want your advice to put me on the right small coil. ive heard a lot of talk abot the 5 inch exterminator is this the right choice? all help apreciated. thanks

Welcome to the Forum. I live in Southern Iowa and beleive our soils are very similar. My opinion is that you can't go wrong with the 5 inch EXcelerator. I find it gives better depth and sensitivity than the 5 inch Concentric White's coil AND as good (if not better) depth than the small White's DD Shooter Eclipse. Both the EXcelerator and the Shooter are very sensitive to small objects and both are great target separators. HH

is an excellent all around coil.
It works well in trash but still has a nice sized foot print. It is my main coil now.
I also hunt school yards and find the Whites 4X6 Mini DD coil an excellent choice for those extremely trashy areas. It really gets between the trash.
HH,
Johnny B
