Nice sign............... Just trying to be a little funny about the pickers...

Really well preserved sign. Copenhagen was the #1 snuff, in the 50's and '60's. When I worked in the lumber industry, in the late 60's it was not unusual to see some dude take a "pinch" of that stuff from a small black can and put it into his jaw. Couldn't smoke around all that wood dust so many went that route.. Hope that helps.

I grew with that stuff. My dad and all his brothers chewed Copenhagen. All of them were WW2 vets. My friend Clarence chewed for 90 years. He started when he was 6 years old. He was WW1 vet. So chewing has been around for a long time. Thanks for reading and Happy Trails....Z

Nice sign. From the condition I would guess it's porcelain coated ? Just a guess but from style and construction I would say 1930's to 50's or 60's. Good job.

I'd probably take it out to dinner, sit it in the chair, light a few candles that sort of thing. Soft music in the background I've never dated a sign but each to their own I suppose.

Dicko..

did you try recerching the co name at the bottom company might be out of business that might give you a better idea

I was always taught in school that Copenhagen was a city in Denmark. I guess it was a road sign over there and someone stole it. If you are near Washington, D. C. you might want to stop by the Danish Embassy and turn it in to the Charge'de Affairs. They might give you a reward for returning their sign.
