I have a two year old DFX 300 with an Eclipse 950 coil. I've always used the factory settings. Suddenly, I've been getting alot of falsing on every swing. I went out and purchased a new coil, but still have falsing. I tried lowering the AC sensitivity down to 56, which seemed to help, but did not eliminate all the falsing. Is there something else I can do? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Any kind of electical lines in the area? underground ,overhead
My XLT will go crazy falsing when I go to close to these.

A DFX with the 950 coil is just a DFX, the 300 refers to the 300mm, 12" coil. Do you ground balance twice back to back in clean ground? Do you get the falsing at all locations that you hunt or just in one place? If it falses depending on one or two locations, it could be EMI and in that case try going to Correlate Mode. If it falses everywhere, the DFX might need a tune-up.

Especially on a salt water beach, I would use Correlate Mode, in fact, I used Correlate almost all of the time. If you are hunting on a black sand beach, it could be very hard to get a good Ground Balance.

Actually, I just arrived in Florida, and it began falsing on the second day. It worked fine back in Wisconsin. I'm out on the beach, away from power lines, etc. Has always worked fine in the past. Maybe it IS time for a tune-up. Thanks

Had the same problem a few weeks ago in Florida with a cheap bounty hunter. I actually left the darn thing in Florida because I had enough. My hopes were up and ready for the beach. i didnt have much time due to family vaca but i wish i would of took my Whites. What a mistake I made. i was told that the wet sand caused my issues. I blame it on the cheap piece of , well you understand. I am still learning.
