Need Help At The Beach

New to metal detecting and just bought a Dfx. Just wanted some tips on what id the best time to go to the beach to detect and where at the beach (upper part where people relax, where the children play,etc.).

Sand stripped away showing a lot of shells is a good area, I don't know the machine but if the coil is waterproof holes in the shallow surf are a good spot. Places where people are funneled like a walkway entrance to the beach area, volleyball courts behind the hotels in the sand, pavilions, and any area you see a lot of people in, and look for cuts as they can be good to. Some of the above will have a lot of trash, but if your finding trash then it means donors have been there and probably lost things. As far as a time if your hunting the sand then just figure out what wind direction strips sand off the beach in your area and if your hunting the surf wait for low tide and the barometric pressure to be high so the sand is more packed. The beach being sanded in will reduce finds but not make them impossible just have to hunt it a lot harder. Just get out there and start swinging it all really comes down to what the coil goes over on any given site, a bad area one day may produce gold the next, if the area you pick is slow just move on to another. Most of all observe good habits fill your holes, pocket your trash, and try to leave the area better than you found it. Good Luck and HH and since I've not seen you post here before welcome to the forum, lots of good people here.
