Need Help..anyone have an old Freedom 2 or 3?

Leslie(nova scotia)

From the land of the Bluenose....just recieved a call from Mary P at Garrett and apparently my old Freedom 2 (upgraded to a Freedom 3 Plus last year) is so old that Garrett doesn't carry parts for it. Machine has served me well for 17 years finding close to 100,000 coins and I'd really miss it although I have a back up as this one has sentamental value....brought it a week after my daughter was born.

The power mechanism (on and off switch ) is shot and I'd gladly pay the shipping and a reasonable price for the machine.

Anyone that can help please email me. Thanks and happy hunting!

Leslie there is a garrett freedom 2 on the classified metal detecting forum in the forum index. good luck

Leslie if it's as simple a the power switch and pot, any radio/tv repair place or halfway decent electronic hobbyist or hardware person ought to be able to replace that easily for a few bucks. It's a piece of cake.

Sure, the part won't be the exact garret part but you'll never know the difference. Good Luck!

thats what i was afraid of i have both machines and think they were some of the best garret made.check with k willis he can fix them all.

From the land of the Bluenose....Makinholes me hunting Bud from Windsor can put a toggle switch on to override but still thinking of a back up for the backup. Happy hunting all and again thanks!
