Hi guys I need input. My sov was mothballed for like 9 years. When I took it out a couple weeks ago...well I had that feeling of wrapping it around a fence post, hence Iam here looking for your help.I will list whats going on..
1-my volume and threshold is always on full blast, there is no way for me to turn the either, its full on till I shut it down..cause?
2- when I stripped my machine down, maybe I didn't set all the cables back in the right connections, but even if I connect my coils direct to the control box,it doesn't act like it should...volume full blast, threshold full blast even at lowest settings
3-Ihave a DTI2 meter and sunray probe, can some kind soul tell me what goes where,as far as what cable to which connections.
4-my tones are NOT as distinct and loud like it should be,example a silver coin give a high pitch but not as loud as it should ,sounds like muddled
5-I have difficulty setting my meter to 180..its like a rodeo..damm it....
Iam trying to get that beast going right, any and all help is appreciated
Thanks Marc :)

My impression with the volume and threshold could be the battery is giving you a low battery alert as the volume gets loud and threshold does nothing at all. If you have the alkaline pack make sure they are fresh batteries and see what it can do. Now if you only have the rechargeable pack make sure it is charged up. Make sure you don't use the rechargeable in the alkaline pack as it only holds 8 batteries
as the rechargeable only have 1.2 volts each so like the factory pack has 10 in it to get the 12 needed.
I don't have my Sovereign here at the computer, but the coil cable should go to the switching box of the S1 probe, then the cable from the S1 probe goes to the DTI meter and the cable coming out of the meter will connect to the Sovereign control box.. I
don't know if it is recommended but I do it quick like to just turn on the control box with nothing connected to the box as it should run very smooth, if not the problem is in the control box which sounds like a low battery alert if the battery is weak. If it runs smooth with nothing connected to the control box then the coil, the meter or the S-1 probe has a problem.
Check it out and let us know what you find out. by process of elimination.

Thanks Rick!!! I will give it a try,I knew you'd come to bat with an answer..I will let you guys know as soon as I cycle through the steps.Would dust and humidity effect the electronics?I left the sov under a bed untouched in years, with all batteries removed..

You may want to check the battery? Instead of hooking the meter and probe up just power up your Sovereign with just the coil plugged into the control box.
