Need compelling reason to buy............

Hawkeye Jim

New member
a F-70 !!! I have owned a Coin$trike for the last three years and love the crap out of it, plus I have an ID-Edge for a backup. I have been following all the messages about the F-75 and F-70 and have really been considering purchasing the F-70.

But, do I really need it??? Will it do more than my beloved Coin$trike??? If not, why would I want to buy one.............

I would like to read your comments and/or compelling reasons for me to purchase a F-70.

Thanks all and Merry Christmas!!! Hawkeye Jim.

Don't know the others you mentoned. But if you pick up an F70 for ten minutes, you'll want one.

I owned an F70 for a short time.....now back to the rugged Coin$trike. I used the F70 as trade bait to get an Infinium I needed for diving & VA red clay. I felt I didn't need both an F70 & F75 as they are so similar. The F70 would be a fair choice for those who can't afford the high priced F75. The Coinstrike is heavier, but a better coin hunter @ 7 khz, and pretty much indestructable. If you would like to find more buttons & gold, rather than high conductors, the F70 @ around 13khz may hit harder on those mid-range items. Sounds like a good idea for a You tube video pairing up those 2 (I'll have to borrow another one sometime).
HH,
Bill

If a person were to have a choice of only two and one of those two had to be the F70, would you pair it with the Edge or with the C$?

Tom

I suppose if you had to keep only 2 out of those 3, I may say C$ & F70 to have 2 "different" units as I guess it can also be said that the C$ & EDge are very similar to justify owning both of those as well. (But it pains me to leave out the Edge after doing R&D & the ad's on it....)

Kinda what I figured you would say Bill. As much as I too love the Edge's performance and the hip mount versatility (are you listening Dave?) I am beginning to feel the 70 is a step up and would pair well with the C$.

Thanks

Tom

The Coinstrike is a much much underrated detector. It's great in iron, really good depth, and seperation in trash is good. Get a 5" coil and keep it.

They are never too busy to watch every post (especially mine) very, very closely. Probably not too happy we are even bringing Los Banos built C$' & Edge into the equation :)

I agree with ya Bill and that's why I have resisted the urge to purchase another detector --- I just couldn't justify in my own mind (with all the success I have had with the C$) why I should buy another unit.

You're right on the money when you say the C$ is almost indestructable, it's a hard working machine and I have never had any real problems with it. THANKS for the honest input!!! Jim

If your are going to get a new detector get the F75 all the way

Don't matter to the engineers so much. I think the Engineering team at FT was sad that Dimitar did not work out in their environment as they all feel he has great potential. Marketings job is to sell the new ones, that's where the trouble starts.

Now if only they had had Dimitar fix the +51 issue on the C$ and design a DD coil before he left that would have been sweet! New designs are always top priority as they feel they can "better" previous models, so no interest in spending the money and resources for fixing an existing one.

Tom

However since you learned the Coinstrike well and have an edge as a backup see no reason for an upgrade...I must say many do well with the F70 but would it help you as your arsenal seems to be doing quite well one never knows...With all these new units coming out and technology changing its your call (My motto is so many detectors so little time).and gosh lots of good units out there both both old and new and well learned get the job done...

and interdepartment dynamics, just imagine the challenge and complexities of executing the intro of new models at each price point for each of the two brands (Fisher and Tek) with finite resources at an unprecedented speed to market. I can't imagine ever witnessing this again.

Get it. Try it. If you dont like it, well - you know what to do.

Along with filling out the product line you know they are also working on the next "best thing" too. All's I can say is that they must have a pretty dynamic team working there.

I wonder how Carl is doing over at White's? That was a real bonus, them picking up a guy like him! You can bet F/T wishes they had got him.

Happy Holidays!

Tom
