I'm considering purchasing one of these. Is there any increase in performance over the stock 8". Is the weight much more than the 8". What are the cons...
Thanks

it is deeper... but not as sensitive to small items. Its harder to pinpoint, Its more subject to Target masking. It will work VERY well in area's that are realitivly free of trash.
Yes... the heavier wieght is very noticable.
Hope this helps.

Your not thinking of the 11 inch widescan coil? That one is noticably heavier and harder to pinpoint with. I used the 10 1/2 inch concentric coil for quite a few years. It was my favorite Tesoro coil and that includes the newer 10 X 12 incher. The concentric is the thin pancake style coil with the hole in the center. Extremely light for its size and feels good on the end of the pole. It gives very good depth and covers some ground quickly, and I found it to work well in semi trashy places as well as in the open fields. I never cared for the wide scan and quickly sold the one I had many years ago. HH
