Heres a button. No markings on the back. It feels a little lighter than the military buttons i have found but still has a military look to it. It might be just a fancy button. Any ideas? Theres a sword on the top.A shield with stars and the letter u above a downward pointing arrow. Then there is another arrow at the bottom pointing up.

Where was it found? It could be a State Seal, State Militia or volunteer button, assuming it was found in the USA. If not, I am looking in the wrong places so location may be needed for an ID.

Your button has two animals facing each other on opposite sides of the shield, common in State Seal buttons. Missouri and Michigan are similar as far as the two animals go but no match. Yours look like dragons with forked tails.

Sorry to dissapoint but I believe this is a blazer/sports coat button of modern manufacture by the appearance. I hope I am wrong.--BAC

I was thinking that way also , Brian. The back doesnt have a loop and its pretty lightweight. Just didnt want to have a rare button in my junk box and not know it. Ive done that before.

One time I was watching a John Wayne movie and noticed the bugle on his hat. "I have one of those. " I said out loud.It was in my junk box. Sold it for two hundred dollars.
