Need bitmap to jpeg converter help.

Open your picture in Paint, then choose "Save As..." from the file menu, select JPEG in the Save as Type dropdown, you are done.

Drawback is you aren't given an option as to what quality level you'd like the JPEG (jpg) to have, but it does work.

Now I'm sure some of the other freebies (Irfanview or whatever it's called) will do the same and more, but Paint will do the conversion.

I ran a test for you. with a 289KB BMP, the jpp convesrion only took up 18.9KB, but of course the compression efficiency depends on the scene content.

I use IrfanView and been using it for years. It one software I like very much and free.

I can even scan or download picture from scanner or camera directly to IrfanView as long the devices offer Twain drivers which allow about any photo software to access to the device and get photo from them. (camera or scanner or camcorders)

I would strongly recommend downloading that software and learn how to use it. Feel free to ask any question about it and Ill do my best to help and answer them.
