Need better headphone cushions for my Excal

ratpack

I hate the hard plastic headphone cushions that came with my Minelab Excal. Anyone have an ideas where I can get a softer pair that cancels out the outside noise better? Thanks for what ever ideas you have

Thats a great idea. Will they hold up after getting wet? I dont dive but even wading they are gonna get submerged a from time to time.
Thanks,
Neil

I'd like them, but.....Ouch! - $38.99 & shipping. Anybody know of a less expensive source?

Sorry for the delay, Date night with the GF

Yes, they hold up very well..I Have been using them for some time now. When I first got them, I installed them and put them in the pool for about 3 days..on the bottom..came out fine. I did notice that they have a very small pin hole in them to breath, at first I thought they were leaking the gel..but they had taken on some water thur this hole..after a few days the were back to normal. Reason I did the underwater test is to see if the glue on the gel pads were affected by the water....And to see if they were good for diving. So if they go under for awhile in Saltwater, they may take on a little water, but mine are still as good as the first day that I used them..Good Luck, Bc..let us know what you think.........joe

OBN...You ever replace you headset brace? I'd like to replace that plastic bar on my Excal set with a wire Aviator style brace.

No, I just replaced everything..went to the peltors earmuffs..lot of ocean noise up here on the atlantic, they help alot. I even checked into noise canceling headphones, but afraid they won't work due to the way they pick up the noise and cancel it.

Did you add an ikelite connector to your Excal or did you just use the existing wiring from the original and wire it into the new phones?

existing wiring, working on another set now that I can use on all the detectors..with IP 67 connectors, instead of the rca jack....
