Need AT Pro settings for Freshwater Hunting?

I can't believe its Sept already and I have yet to get my AT Pro out hunting yet. But with gold at $1800+ an ounce, even 10 K gold rings should be worth some good money.
So, can you Pros tell me your favorite settings for hunting gold rings in freshwater swimming areas with low to mild mineralization? How can I tell a gold chain?
Should I trade in my AT Pro for the new AT Pro Gold detector instead ? Looks like it has a coin mode ,and being optimized for gold, maybe a hotter ring finder? I wonder how stable it is and easy or hard to use? I like my MXT but maybe its time to sell that one too,I really dunno..? I cannot afford to keep buying a new detector every time one comes out that is supposedly better than what I have already?

Dig all signals. Gold can show up in the strangest settings. But.....keep this video in mind.

I run mine at Pro Mode, Zero Disc, Iron Disc 35, Iron Audio Off if it's real trashy, On if it's not too, Sens. 4-5 bars, with the 6 x 9 coil. Dig everything that makes a sound!! You won't know if it's a gold chain or a piece of foil, only the scoop will tell!! Why trade off something you haven't even used yet? The AT Gold is still an AT model with some different tools, not better, just different!!

And get out to some tot lots and volleyball courts this week so I can learn this detector a bit before Sundays lake hunt.
How does it compare to my Headhunter Diver with 8 inch coil? I can get quarters 10 inches deep in the sand with that machine but only 6 inch on a penny.

Should I only dig repeatable signals that make a noise both ways on a sweep or also dig the good signals that only sound good in 1 direction?

My Pro Pointer keeps sounding off when within 5 feet of my Ace 250, does it with my friends Ace 250 also.Is this normal? I seem to recall asking Garret about this a couple years ago and they said it should NOT be a problem? Wonder if I should send it in? Ps, is there a trick to getting more depth out of this Pinpointer? Can it be used underwater?
Thanks,

-Tom, ps, I thought Uncle Willy was gettin better, what did he die from ?
