GREATFUL:shrug:GREATFUL:shrug:Dont know much about bottle hunting but was approached by a man in my community wanting me to help him find over three thousand old medical bottles that he and his father and brother buried on 34 acres in 1961. His father bought an over 100 year old pharmacy out in 1961 and his father took all the medicine bottles and had them bury them in two layers on his property. This man is the only one still alive he has tried metal detecting and also hired a back hoe driver to dig up an area where he thought they buried them but was wrong. He says he kinda knows where they are but not sure.ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATFUL:shrug:

Well, don't know what the lay of the land is on that property, but I'd be looking out for any depressions in the ground, where the soil has sunk down between the bottles. Yeh, a probe might work, it they weren't buried too deep. As for older dumps than what was buries by your relatives, are there any large old trees on the property? Oftentimes, people buried stuff and planted a tree over the dump, or buried rubbish at the base of one. What about gates and fences? Sometimes bottles were turned upside down to mark old garden beds, etc, or just thrown over a fence. If there's a creek on downside to the property, such as a hill, they often buried bottles about half way between the house's front door and the bottom of the hill, or leading off to a creek or stream. Can you post a few photos of the site, to give us an idea? I found a bottle dump with one of my detectors once, picking up on metal objects, so it still a possiblity that you might find it, if not buried too deep, and has metal in it. See how you go!
