Need Advice .....

Spanky

I'm interested in a Tesoro water machine for fresh water if anyone has advice I'd be very grateful !

Hello Spanky......are you diving or wading? That would be the next operative question after your question. Both Tesoro machines are water tight down deep, but the Sand Shark will be better on wet salt beaches as it is a PI detector. The Tiger will be a better choice in fresh water. Hope this helps.

I'm a wader not a diver...the Tiger Shark looks to be a good machine. The life time warranty is a great selling point as well. Is there a long learning curve on this unit or is it pretty straight forward?
Thankyou

The Tiger Shark is a great machine, and the learning curve is less than an hour or so long. It's reliable, predictable, built like a tank, and hits quickly and positively on finds. One of the best underwater machines ever built!

Spanky,

I would go with the Tiger Shark. I was in the same boat as you are. Could not decide on which water machine to get. I decided on the the TS. It is wonderful in fresh water. The warranty and service is excellent. I just got mine back from Tesoro. They fixed it for free and It only cost me to ship it to them. The TS can also be used as a salt water machine to. I have used it that way with much success.

Hope it helps,

A great freshwater machine, loved the one I had. Finds really small gold and silver. And if working the Canadian beaches, it has no problems picking up the Canuk coins. When I had mine, if lake waters were too rough to go water hunting, it made an excellent dry sand machine. I mounted my control box on the rear of the handle, balances much better in and out of the water.

Tiger Shark is easy to use in fresh or salt water or on the land. Mine finds small gold and necklaces too, which most other detectors miss. If your lucky enough to find the Clean Sweep Coil for it you will increase your finds. Tesoro discontinued the coil for the TS but you can still find them.
