need advice

Hello everyone I'm having a little issue with my Explorer XS it all started last Sunday when i got too my old foundation site did the usual turned power on it went through the start up process and the the "menu" advice screen popped up in the middle so i shut the unit off and hit power button again same thing so i hit menu button and it still was there then i hit detect and it went into my smart find screen and operated fine the rest of the day detecting unless i shut it off etc and it would appear again I'm just stumped with it any ideas? Unfortunately the XS has been around a long time and electrical components fail causing problems..A call to Minelab for info as perhaps a reboot is in order and they may offer assistance. Last I heard Minelab was not servicing the original XS but they may offer info to correct the problem...

Like Dan stated. A simple factory reset might work. Hold the Power button until you hear the tones if I remember correctly. There is a company in the UK that still services them if Minelab will not but, give them a call first.

Thank you guys for the info i did the reset and still the same opened it up and made sure all connections were in order put back together and same thing well im thinking maybe a new er unit is in store next spring one that has a warrenty .
