hello everyone, im going to buy x terra 705, but i dont which fruecency is better 18.75 or 7.5??

i would like te get depth of 6 to 8 inches

thanks

Hi,
I have tried all the coils for the X-Terra 705 & highly recommend the DD 18.75 khz coils for Gold & most coin hunting in Australia. However, for doing beach work, you can't go past the new 15 inch Coiltek coil operating on 7.5khz.
Hope this helps.
Gary.

I vote for the 5x10 18.75 :) it's great.

Depth depends on the ground conditions of your area that you are going to hunt. So one particular coil might work better than another. I own both the 9" 7.5 kHz and the 5"X10" 18.75 kHz for my X-Terra 70. I use the 5"X10" 18.75 kHz for trashy areas because it gives me better separation on targets. I use the 9" 7.5 kHz on less trashy areas. I have found coins down to 8" with both coils. I believe you will be able to cover an area faster with 5"X10" because of the blade shape detection field made by the DD coil oppose to the cone shaped detection field of the concentric coil. You can also down load the X-Terra book from minelab website which has a lot of information on the coils.

I got on this board by mistake but I use an Exterra for a couple years. If you go to the beach, try the prospecting mode. It worked great for me but I haven't heard of anyone else using it like that.

Those questions are dependent on what you are hunting for and where you are going to be detecting. All the coils will find anything metal. Some just do certain things better than others. Take a look in the FAQFAQ section, or look through my FREE eBook (link provided at the top of these posts) for more information on specific coil applications and recommendations. HH Randy
