Need advice on Quick draw-may but Whites M6

Heh all,

I am considering buying the Whites Matrix M6. I'm sick of the beginner level Bounty Hunter Quick Draw after just a few weeks-it seems to be limited to a maximum of about 4 inches of depth and not very accurate in target identification. Can someone give me their thoughts about this?

I used my Bounty Hunter in a test garden and it couldn't detect a dime 6 inches down. I got signals of coins 4 inches down, but the target identification was poorer than I expecetd-said foil on nickels and pennies, and bounced around? It was right on with a quarter at only 2 inches down! I want to find deeper older coins.

Help please

Could be a couple of things, Soil condition can play havoic. If you have Disc turned up a little any metal near your coins will be masked. 6in may be a strech without the 10in coil but i can hit them if the conditions are right.

Yeah, I was in all metal mode with discrimination way down-that did the best but didn't get the 6 inch dime. Auto notch missed a couple of the 4 inchers I planted. All metal mode with the discrimination way down got the best signals, although innacurate...but I guess I'll end up digging lots of tabs cause I hate missing coins!! I still think I may buy a Whites M6-way more expensive...but I guess it could be worth it for the depth...all the reviews I have read about it are great.

The M6 is a great machine, agreed. The M6 is set up as a great coinshooter, but in the future if you ever wanted to expand your hunting horizon for relic or possibly prospecting, or if you enjoy a little extra tweekability  (if thats a word?) it would well be worth the money now to spend the extra $100 for the MXT. The VDI is the same minus the 7 tone id. I think you will be very happy either way, just my 2 cents. If you decide to scrap the QDII to help fund the M6 or MXT, shoot me a PM.

Ok, will do when I decide between the M6 or MXT. I just bought the Quick draw with headsets a few weeks ago-total was about $185 or so brand new. I may try to return them? My wife has the Pioneer 202-same as the Quick draw as well.
