Need advice on MXT Xcelerator coils?

Has anybody used one of the big Xcelerator MXT coils for gold nugget hunting? I was hoping to get 18 inch+ depth on 1/2 ounce nuggets and larger in deep overburden, not highly mineralized, no hot rocks,lots of limestone tho. $250 for the 18 inch coil ,just don't want to waste my money if it doesn't work well for deep nugget hunting?
