Need advice on Explorer Setting for trashy site.

Hello Explorer Gods,
I have been hunting in the Factory Preset Smart find mode for some time now and want to use the advanced settings for some hunting. I have a fair gounds that has been here since 1886 and I know their are some finds to be had. This site is trashy, I mean real trashy. The ground is good and not mineralized. What Settings would you recommend I try. I will have the Sunray 8 inch by Friday. So that should help me get around some of the trash.
Any and all help with settings would me much appreciated.

For the X-8 I would go 32 auto (adjust down for falsing), Iron mask -8, recover fast, response for conductivity, gain 7, volume max, tone separation max and threshhold set so that you can just barely hear it. If the trash is REALLY bad then I would go to a custom silver/copper coin screen in smart find. But if at all possibble though try to stay in iron mask. Even though the X-8 is awesome in trash go real slow and work the nulls from all angles listening for a silver tone to peek out. This area has probably been hunted before so most of the good coins are probably going to be very near or mixed in with the trash targets. It sounds like you have a great spot to hit with the Explorer, good luck and make sure to post your finds.

Bill, I have a super trashy site next to a historical district and lake here in Florida. The trash is so thick I must get 2 or 3 nulls on every swing of the coil with my coin pattern. I'm really having trouble with buried aluminum cans and some bottle caps giving me a silver coin indication at digital 28 and far right side on smartfind. Also, my depth meter with the X-8 coil always shows targets deeper than they really are. The only way I have been able to avoid digging this trash is to try to determine size in the pinpoint mode and often, even a crushed can looks like a good signal. If anyone has a clue how to deal with these, please let us know.
