Need a pinpointer which one is the best

Whats is good but Garretts is much better for a hand held pin pointer.
Garrett lists them for $149 but almost everyone sells them for $127.
My opinion.

You can't do any better than a DX-1 thats set up to stay attached to your detector, easy to use and no chance that you'll leave it on the ground.
All the folks that use'em swear by them. I have had 1 for a good while and it's the best help I have. It may cost a little more than the hand held but worth every cent.
JMHO. :) Good luck on whatever you choose and HH KC

floridason :usaa: retired
MXT and PRO lotsa coils

Everything Floridason said goes for me too. Also,..no extra batteries, works off the detectors power. AND, if you are digging a deep or tricky target, the pinpoint trigger will boost the probes field and help you target in the hole. That has helped me a lot on difficult pinpoints. The DX-1 is worth the extra bucks
if it's in your budget.

katz & floridason answered your question perfectly. For a portable, hand-held pinpointer, the Garrett ProPointer is a GREAT tool. For a little bit more money and a little extra weight though, the Sun Ray inline probes are as good as it gets...hands down. Good luck.

Sunray's DX-1. Larry sells a lot of them. I need not say anymore. HH, Nancy

Sunray DX1 probe is the best in my opinion! For a handheld, I have tried 4 brands and think the garret is best for that.

Yep, Everything everyone else said.......... DX-1 without any hesitation !!!!! CCH :usmc:

I've not used the DX-1, but I do use the Garrett Pro pointer and it is great.

I sold my DX-1. It was not sensitive enough to pick up small nuggets. The Garrett Pro pinpoiter will and is far superior to the DX-1 and makes the MXT lighter. I also use the probe with my TDI for coin shooting and, again, it far exceeds the Sunray DX-1 that I was using for the last 2 years for deprth and sensitivity.

Knowing that you posted on a Whites forum I will simply say - Whites can learn from the much better automatic adjusting pinpointer that is made in Texas. When posting questions like this it's a lot better to post them on the general forum.
