Found today at a new site. It is lead filled too. I do believe it is a rosette and I do hope it is confederate. Any input is welcome. Thanks

Nice old find. Who knows who had it though. Provenance? If you found a hand full of Confederate bullets around it I'd say sure.

I found it in middle Tennessee at an old farm. Nothing else so far except a little horse tack style buckle. I have saw several rosettes with flower patterns on them dug that were used by the CS side but not quite like this one. My friend told me that he believes it to be pre civil war. Who knows for sure as I have not saw anything exactly like it online yet. However some of the floral patterns I saw on rosettes were made by the British and used by the confederacy. Either way I am good as it is a cool find. I have found US 1859 style rosettes myself. This was found at an old farm with a house that was built in the 1930's. The land owners told me that there was an old log cabin there previously. So far this is the oldest item I have come across yet.

Civil War period or not, whether prior or past period, that is a cool looking and old Rosette. Congrat's to you on a nice artifact.

Thanks you for your input. I would love to come across the other mate to it too.
