Could someone or anybody please answer the following questions?
1. What would be the best treasure hunt magazine to subscribe to if you where only going to pick one?
2. Went out the other day along a sidewalk the city tore up and used my C$. The numbers just jumped around like crazy. I even changed batteries and it still jumped all over the place. I'm assuming there could be some power lines buried in the area. Does anybody else have this happen to them?
3. How many frequencies does the C$ have?, someone told me only two but on the manual it says propritary. I've noticed the Mylan has 17 to 23 does anybody have an idea?
Thanks for the help I hope I can find something other than pennies all the time.

I think I would be biased with the magazines But I only get 1 & it's Western & Eastern Treasures. Lost Treasure seems to be alot of weird, old treasure tales & less true detecting adventures, so I rarely buy that one. You can go to Western & Eastern online & read some of the stroies to get an idea or I can even mail you a back issue to check out if ya want.
2) Yes, that's happened to all of us & it's just a ground balancing problem due to outside interference (usually powerlines). Balancing is very important with the very sensitive C$, & this can also happen if you balanced on a piece of metal or mineralization too. If it happens again, just shut down & walk well away. I've had to cross roads to balance & then come back. You may also have to cut sensitivity in half in bad RF areas like this too....
3) "Proprietary" frequency. This is a smart way to keep everyone guessing how many frequencies it has since many folks are fooled by bunches of arrows going into the ground I just know it works even if it only has 1 like the Excel. I subscribe to W&ET (even though the cover photos are gettin' kinda spooky lately ) As far as the C$ gettin weird on ya, my guess would also be RF interferance. You can run the C$ with the sens on "0" and still get good depth. I have some places that I have to run on "0" when there is big demand on the power lines and I have pulled silver coins at 4"+. Don't be afraid to back it way down. And let us know what's under that sidewalk!
