Need a date for Union Infantry button

I found my FIRST Infantry button! All my others have been general service.

I thought I knew a bit about aging these but I need some help. All I know about this is the obvious within the title, it has a plain back and is 2 piece. Anyone have some info to add mostly about the age? At first I was thinking WWI but after googling infantry buttons I found several that looked the same and they 'claimed' CW era. I really don't think it is just because the loop is seperate from the back and NOT soldered on. Is this relevant? It could be a clue about the age.
Thanks for helping!

I found a good website on ID'ing military buttons and determined it is CW era. The late 1800's used a different front design and raised the 'shield', changed the eagles head and wings, ect. One of the easiest differences to see right away is the eagles head on mine is looking up, this was was not used very long and the head angled down to look more level. Not to mention that WWI buttons used the great seal design.
