Neat little waterproof camera..... Any thoughts? :D :cam:

Saw this in a kayaking magazine today. Pretty cool, any thoughts? Fixed focus, for 5ft to infinity though. :( So no good close ups, or zoom, just real basic. Mounts on your wrist, or you can mount it on a paddle, but a detector shaft and paddle shaft are about equal diameter..

Rob , I just checked out the pics. and video they show, pretty impressive for the price. Seems like it would be good for spins on the beach, but like you said no closeups of the loot. I would like to see one up close, may check the local dive shop and Kayak center. Are you thinking of getting one? HH

I just got an olympus stylus 725, micro underwater camera, good to 16', a really excellent camera, great on jewelry close ups..Mr. B I believe uses one the 770 a bit deeper rated. He told me about this camera and the price is not bad at all.

I have the Olympus Stylus as well and it is excellent value for the money. Waterproof to 10 feet right out of the box with an optional housing to take it deeper. Prepackaged settings make it very user friendly and the close up shots are just fine. A hard deal to beat at around $300 - $400 depending on the model. Oh yeah, it's shock proof up to a 5 foot drop onto pavement, been there, done that, No problem!

Cheers,

BDA:cool:

It's an OK little camera. My son bought one back around June although it takes good pics it didn't last long about a month and a half.

Canon Powershot A530, works pretty well, and for extra close ups i use a 10X loupe (loop? idk spelling lol). Not waterproof, but i carry it in a waterproof pelican box.
