neat button need id help please

I found your button in "Alberts button book", but unfortunately it is in the unclassified/ unidentified section and very little information on it.
It has a rarity value of "RV1" which means very common and you are right on the initials.. W.F.I.
I also couldn't find the exact backmark but the backmark "HORSTMANN/ PHILADELPHIA" dates from 1895 to 1935.
This was the closest backmark I could find to yours
As to the origin, perhaps it is a school button.
Check on old schools in your area and you may find the source of the button.
I found one a while back from an old school and matched it by that source.
