NC Beaches

Has anyone reading this post been hunting around Emerald Isle and or Atlantic Beach NC in the last few weeks? Are the beaches being heavily patronized and are the sanded in? I am looking to hunt them in a couple of weeks from now.

Separate note: I want to ask the same questions for my home state of SC as far as Folly Beach and Isle of Palms go?

Thanks,

The Ring King

I haven't been over to Isle of Palms in quite some time but I hear they're undergoing beach renourishment, at least in some areas. That would make hunting a little hard. Still, I would check it out as there may be some areas that might not be affected. I think it's mostly up around the Wild Dunes area. As far as Folly Beach goes I was down there a couple of days ago and talked to a good friend. He said nothing much was being found. Sand is in on these beaches and will probably be that way for the summer. Crowds are fairly thick though so something has got be dropping off of them. I haven't been on the beach with my detector for some time. Usually will do a hunt or two in the early morning hours if the tide is right but don't like having to step over and around the crowds. Also be aware that Folly Beach has put in paid parking just about everywhere on the beach now except for some of the small side streets. Best of luck.
