Navy buckle--circa??

Surprise!! navybuckle mystery solved. Two days later, same beach but very different beach conditions, i found the other half of the buckle!! Bet i couldn't do that again!

Lucky You! Now, DONT CLEAN IT!!

That buckle could still be worth a pretty penny. So far, I've seen $200 to $500 for it but its condition will determine what side of the "Bling Bling" scale it's on.

Congradulations.... (mumbles) I spent 20 years in the woods looking for stuff like that and never found it. Thats why I'm in the surf now.

steve i estimate within 100 feet apart. I believe the buckle was together until it hit the berm and small rocks at the edge in the surf?? both parts are crustted on the back with a green and black color with usually means it was lying in the peat bank off-shore for some time. Jeff

Thanks, Jeff. I am really glad that found such a great find. I used to visit the cape quite often. My grand parents had cottages in North Truro near the Whitman House. I probablty will never get back there but it is good to know that someone is finding good things there. The coast is littered with wrecks so I always thought there must be something out there!
