Nauset Coast Guard Station / Coast Guard Beach Cape Cod...

Active member
Nauset Coast Guard Station was built in 1936,and decommissioned in 1958.It appears the house may be private now.The Lifeboat House is now a bath house, with outdoor showers for the bathers. Its all part of the National Seashore. It has a beautiful beach area.Imagine pulling a Lifeboat on wagon wheels thru that sand in a storm? Mostly at night,to ROW out to a grounded vessel,or send a breeches buoy to a wreck, during ferocious winds, snow,an icy rain? Notice how high the sand is on the fence?[attachment 55550 lighthousesCapeCod075.jpg]Rj
