I was working a lake beach last nite where the lake is down to it's customary winter level. The water meets the shore at a much more acute angle than in summer, so objects tend to stay in this area once they end up there. The sand consistency is more like oatmeal rather than sugar in about a foot wide strip.

All the pennies shown are copper and were very deep ~10", but the Excel was hitting them, some did not ID correctly initially but you knew there was a +positive target down there. Notice the lack of rims on them and the thickness on some is like a half dime. This was from a 20ft long 2 ft wide area.

I got this along the water with the proto Excel.....check out this AU detailed Merc dime.......gutta be a 1916-D :smoke:
