Nats

Rob (IL)

New member
Hey Nancy,
I went out Saturday after it rained and the little bugs, we call the Nats were out. Before I knew it I had 5 of them marching around on the inside of my screen. The same thing happened on Sunday. Did you ever have this happen?

Well I cleaned them out and plugged the space were they get in. If you look at the top of the foam handle on the back side of the pod you can see where the wires pass through. I just pushed a tiny piece of black foam I had in from each side. I had not trouble today. :wiggle: Rob

Gee, we were out both days detecting and didn't come across any. You can keep those bugs up there. If they're the big ones, they bite like crazy too. But for them to be in the machines is quite new to me. We've never had that happen. I'm glad you said something about it. Now if I see something crawling around in my machine, I'll know what LARRY can do. :bouncy: Thanks Rob!

Since you went out, how did you do? It's been raining here all day, but tomorrow is looking good and we've been wanting to hit that rental property but wouldn't since it was so dry. Maybe tomorrow after I get off work. Larry talked to the owner tonight and he said we could come there anytime. :twodetecting: How cool.

Thanks for the info on the gnats and glad you got out.

HH to you,
Nancy

How did you clean them out of the MXT? Kelley (Texas) :)

Kelley, that's just what they looked like marching around on the screen, Ha Ha. They are really tiny and the correct spelling is gnats. I just opened the pod. Rob

I have had a couple spiders in mine I had to clean out. As for plugging that hole, you may want to check but I believe that serves the purpose of venting the meter to keep moisture buildup from the humidity. If your screen fogs up you will know for sure.

If it does the foam is just pressed in and will come out in a second. Rob
