National Metal Detecting Day

I just came back from the Minelab event in AC. I decided since it was a seeded hunt that the V3i was a better choice than my Excalibur 1000. I think it was a good choice. I was a little nervous about using wireless headphones in case anyone else had theirs on the same channel so I used a pair of stock phones.

This was my first competitive hunt and the V3i did great. I had no interference from other detectors, but I heard that the Minelab users did. I only had a problem when my friend Ed, who also used a V3i came close. ( He said he had no problem with the wireless headphones).

I did not win anything, but there were some good Minelab schwag and it was a fun day out in the sun!

The V3i is very good at seeded hunts. It will find targets as fast as you can swing it.
