Nasty sand and missed silver

Stopped by a volley ball court MX5 and the stock 9" coil on my way to an appointment. I'm thinking the sand will be fast and easy. Only thing some MDer beat me to it, oh well, still missed a few items. The sand just flat eats up the clad cents here in Charleston, but this time it was awful. The silver charm was almost 8 inches 18-20 vdi and the ear ring sounded off solid 18 vdi at 6 inches. Other MDer may have been using a bigger coil because whoever it was took everything, foil, iron, you name, lol. At least they cleaned up, only missed a couple of small pieces of foil and a pull tab.

Man, those sure are all eat up! Good work on a heavy picked spot!:clapping:

Humm I wonder if I worked that spot at one time or another. I have yet to find anything in a volley ball court. Found a junk bracelet and a dime at one on Folly Beach. Hit three of them at Isle Of Palms this week and found absolutely nothing.

Those Zinc Pennies do not last long in any type of highly mineralized soil or sand. I have a few hundred of them that I have dug at the beach. So badly eaten up that they will not go thru a coin counter.

Them pennies look like some of our clad pennies here in Indiana. I have a jar full of that junk. Our money is not to good any more... KEN

I figured it was you George that cleaned out the volleyball court! LOL too clean, unless you wanted to dig iron down 8 to 10 inches and those torn up clad pennies. Just kidding, made a quick stop at Wannamaker before any of the park rangers saw me, lol. The beach has been slim picking here this year. I have not even bothered to go to Folly Beach with the beach nourishment. Up near the old hotel in the dry sand may be good but most likely pounded hard this year by the locals.

Send that feller over this way, I have a few sites he can work on for me

glad ya got out and found a keeper or two.
