Hi all, well I used a old borrowed metal scoop my first time out water detecting and I definitely am buying a new scoop real soon. I narrowed my choices down to the t-rex or the stealth scoop. I will be hunting fresh water lakes and rivers. One question I have is does the t-rex float with the wood handle? The price difference is about $26.00 more for the stealth but it has a lifetime warranty. The weight is 3.9 pounds on the t-rex without the handle and 5.5 on the stealth with the handle. Any info or opinions are appreciated. Thanks all and HH

I like the T-Rex. I have never used the stealth and have no doubt is an awsome scoop also. Those are the same two I was choosing between. If you do go with a Stealth do exactly as Bob Oz said and get the one with angled handle. I abuse the heck out of my T-rex and it shows no signs of wear. The truth is either one of these scoops will suit your needs really well. For some people it might just be small preferences between the two, but nothing major.

I have used both scoops, but prefer the T-Rex for the conditions I hunt in, no rocks. Works like a charm, but I must also say that both scoops are very well made and should last a life-time.

i use the T-Rex, it digs in good and takes a hugh bite, removes lots of sand. Never have used the Stealth but pretty sure it's a winner also. I put a lift handle down very low, about 12" from the basket, I need it to lift the scoop up when I take those big bites. HH

Thanks everyone for all your input, very helpful. I did end up buying a 720i stealth with the lifetime warranty. The two biggest reasons where they are made in my home state and anybody that knows anything about Michigan's economy knows we can use all the business we can get. Also I have family that lives about 2 miles from where they are made so returns for warranty work will be easy. Cannot wait til my nephew brings it up next week so I can take it out to play. Thanks all and HH.
