Nancy and I went to a seeded hunt

up in the Quad Cities for National Metal Detecting Day sponsored by Minelab and the I&I Club today and what a hunt it was. Only four PATH members were there, sure wish there was more. About $15,000 in coins and prizes was to be shared with 230 hunters. I think I did pretty good in coins and won a mag light in a raffle and a Minelab 505 detector with a token find, there were 11 detectors given away including a CTX3030. Included a few pictures including a great ending to the day with a beautiful rainbow we saw on the way home. We had to stop along the Interstate to enjoy the view and snap a few pictures. Sorry about the quality but the cell phone was all I had with me..

Great Adventure and hunting! I gotta try that someday!...I'm shy though...:sadwalk:

Here's my take for the events. I didn't do too bad considering my headphones quit working on me at the start of the first hunt. :ranting: Luckily Larry had a spare set in the truck so the second hunt went better. The I&I Club did an outstanding job!

Last year I told about the hunt at a meeting. It was not a seeded hunt and had the usual hats and bags given out. Nobody wanted to go 80 miles to a non seeded hunt and in a hunted out park. I went and had fun, got some usual goodies which I gave to the silver hunt as prizes. This year we were surprised. There was going to be a registration limited to about 230 hunters because the parking lot could not hold anymore cars. I slipped under the wire registering with only two more slots available. Then we went to the I & I Club meeting and found out about the seeded hunt, two guest speakers, detectors and prizes. Again, please check the Minelab website for next years hunt sometime around the third Saturday of May. This hunt was a pleasant surprise and not something kept hidden.

I didn't win the CTX 3030 detector or any of the 7 others in the adult hunts and raffles but I still had fun. Went home with $15.50 in clad and $2.25 in silver.

You did quite well also Steve. :detecting: That's what it's all about "having fun". We had fun too and the weather turned out to be awesome. Seeing so many smiles on those little one's faces was priceless while they were finding their coins.

The kids hunt was awesome and I forgot I have a picture of some of them hunting. The kids even had 3 detectors and a pinpointer to win.........:clapping:
