It was such a lovely day I could not stand the thought of going to work. Nancy and I went back to the gold camp that we had found a route to on Saturday, this time with detectors. I put our detectors in their bags and wrapped them with a blanket before bungying them to the front rack of the atv.
Nancy is studying the area after the three and half mile ride in.

If you are hunting in snake country it is good to see one right off so you can be extra cautious the rest of the day. This nice timber rattler was waiting to say hi to us. I played with the nice snakey-poo for a while while Nancy voiced her concern. It finally crawled off so I let it go.

We had to hunt for a while to find the mine camp. The timber and weeds covered things up well. Nancy is doing a little all-metal hunting to find the main camp. She gets the credit for finding it.

We even found where the miners had made a dam in the stream for a holding pool.

The place even had a little wooden stuff left. This wood is at the outlet of the holding pool. Notice the lizards? The little guys were everywhere.

This is the Idaho state flower, Syringa. They were in bloom all over and the air smelled like a florist shop.

We hunted for the site for a couple hours before we started finding old metal stuff. When we did hit on the busy ground we found a lot of pieces of sheet copper and copper pipes. There was also a lot of iron relics and the usual shotgun shell heads and rifle cartriges. I found one ring that I think is brass. All in all we did not find anything worth posting pict of, but we had a blast in the Idaho mountains.
