We haven't done much detecting this year, but we have hit an old home site, and an old school yard. We found a lot of non-cool coins and the usual knives, spoons, tools kind of stuff. Here are three coins that are out of the ordinary. The Whitetail deer medallion made my widdle heart go pitty-pat for a moment. Kinda the size and shape of a double eagle, reeded edge and all, until you wipe off the dirt. The penny made Nancy a little confused at first. She called me over to look at it because it just did not look "Right". Some one had made a wierd mirrior image coin with the help of a little J-B weld or something. And you don't find a 1949 german 10 fennig every day.

We did find some silver in the form of rings. Nancy found the old silver one that is missing the stone. She sifted through the dirt to find the stone but it was just not there. I found the rest of them. The upper left one is not silver, but is a Barbie Dream ring. It would go well with Vernon's Bass Tournement rod.

Not much, but the weather is warmer now, and we even have another hunt planned for later this year with Elson and Falk that could be a dandy!
